ODD SATA

Xbox 360

Type 1

Black cable. Commonly used in consoles with xenon and zephyr motherboards, this connected the DVD drive to the motherboard and had a small yellow dot on the side that connects to the motherboard.

Type 2

Black cable. Commonly used in consoles late in the zephyr life-cycle and newer. This connected the DVD drive to the motherboard and had a small piece of yellow tape on the side that connects to the motherboard. There are no functionality differences between this and a Type 1 cable other than how the end that goes to the console was identified.

Xbox 360 S and E

Red ODD Cable

Commonly used in consoles with trinity motherboards, this connected the DVD drive to the motherboard. The 90 degree side connected to the motherboard while the 135 degree side plugged into the DVD drive.

Dark Blue ODD Cable

Commonly used in consoles with corona and newer S and E systems, this connected the DVD drive to the motherboard.

Prototypes

The following SATA cables were used on different Xbox 360 console variations.

Xbox 360 S Light Blue ODD Cable

Used on early trinity prototypes, this SATA cable differed in in terms of the color and in the cable ends. The straight-through side plugged into the motherboard and the 90 degree inverted side plugged into the DVD drive. Interestingly enough, the port on final trinity motherboards is referred to as "ODD_Blue" even though the final cable is red.

ODD Power

The following ODD power cables were used in the Xbox 360's lifecycle. Pins 1 and 2 are missing on all variations of this cable.

Yellow ODD Power Cable

This power cable was used on Xbox 360 consoles with trinity motherboards.

Blue/Pink ODD Power Cable

This power cable was used on Xbox 360 consoles with corona and newer motherboards.
