There are multiple Hard Drive models used in the Xbox 360. The drives themselves are contained in a Hard Disk Drive Module (HDDM).

Type 1
Used on Trinity consoles, this cable featured a red SATA cable and a yellow HDD power cable. The HDD power cable is connected to the motherboard under the S's HDDM.
Type 2
Used on Corona & newer consoles, this cable changed the power cables from yellow to blue from the Type 1 cable. It also was modified to have a piece of heat shrink connecting the two cables together. The HDD power cable was moved over by the ODD and HDD SATA connectors.
Prototypes
