The straight-through side plugged into the motherboard and the 90 degree inverted side plugged into the DVD drive. Various cables were used for the drives in the Xbox 360.

DVD Drive Power

Pins 1 and 2 are missing on all variations of this cable.

Black ODD Power Cable

This power cable was used on all Original Xbox 360 consoles and certain prototype Trinity Xbox 360 S consoles.

Yellow ODD Power Cable

This power cable was used on Xbox 360 S consoles with Trinity motherboards.

Blue/Pink ODD Power Cable

This power cable was used on Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E consoles with Corona, Waitsburg, Stingray, and Winchester motherboards.

DVD Drive SATA

Original Xbox 360

Black cable which is used in all Original Xbox 360 consoles. Earlier versions had a small yellow dot on the side that connects to the motherboard, while later versions had a piece of yellow tape on this side.

Xbox 360 S and E

Red Cable

Used in Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E consoles. The 90 degree side connected to the motherboard while the 135 degree side plugged into the DVD drive.

Dark Blue Cable

Infrequently used in certain Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E consoles instead of the red version.

Prototypes

Xbox 360 S Light Blue Cable

Used on early Trinity Xbox 360 S prototypes. The straight-through side plugged into the motherboard and the 90-degree inverted side plugged into the DVD drive.

Hard Drive

Hard Drive cables are only used on the Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E. On the Original Xbox 360, the HDD connects directly to a motherboard connector.

Type 1

Used on consoles with Trinity motherboards, and is a combination of a red SATA cable and yellow HDD power cable. The HDD power cable is connected to the motherboard under the HDDM.

Type 2

Used on consoles with Corona, Waitsburg, Stingray, and Winchester motherboards. While being two separate cables, it has a piece of heat shrink connecting them together.

Prototypes

This cable snapped into the HDDM caddy instead of screwing into it like final consoles. This featured a red SATA cable and a yellow power cable.
