The Backup Clock Generator was added to the Xenon motherboard due to the ANA's clock generator having excessive PLL jitter. The HANA chip added on Zephyr fixed the PLL jitter issue and thus the Backup Clock Generator was removed.

The chip used is a Cypress CY28517. Certain prototype motherboards used the ICS MK1493.
