Note  This page is a technician's reference. You will need Schematic and/or Boardview files to follow these steps.
Note  On Corona, Waitsburg, Stingray, and Winchester motherboards, replace "HANA" in all diagnostic steps with "KSB", as HANA functionality was implemented into the KSB.
ERROR_NO_ANA/ERROR_NO_HANA

The SMC communicates with the ANA/HANA via the SMBus. If communication is lost, the SMC enters EC_FATAL and the 0010 code is displayed on the front panel.

ANA/HANA Power

  • ANA/HANA is powered by V_1P8STBY and V_3P3STBY
  • Check that both rails are present at the ANA/HANA

Clocks

  • Check that ANA_CLK_OE is high (skip this step for KSB)
    • If missing, check pulldown and series resistor
    • If still missing, replace Southbridge
  • Check that ANA/HANA clock is present
    • If missing:
      • Xenon: Check Backup Clock Generator and ANA_XTAL_IN series resistor
      • Others: Check crystal circuit, replace parts as needed

SMBus

  • Check that SMB_CLK and SMB_DATA are not shorted to ground
    • If they are, isolate them at the Clock Generator or ANA
      • Replace Clock Generator or ANA as needed
    • If still shorted, remove Southbridge and recheck
      • If short clears, replace Southbridge
  • Check SMB_CLK and SMB_DATA pullups

ANA/HANA and Southbridge

  • Replace ANA/HANA
  • If error not resolved, replace Southbridge
