The Zephyr motherboard has 3 different versions with minor differences.

Zephyr_A

Template:Infobox Component

The Zephyr_A is the successor to the Xenon, and is used in the Original Xbox 360 series. It is the first motherboard to feature HDMI.

Notable Differences

  • Redesigned and cleaned up board layout
  • Removal of the Cypress clock generator (functionality integrated into HANA)
  • ANA has been replaced with HANA, which adds HDMI support
  • An HDMI port has been added
  • Hynix is now one of the RAM vendors
  • The layout and specifications of the major filtering capacitors has changed
  • All manufacturers now apply glue around the CPU and GPU

Specifications

  • 90nm IBM Waternoose2 CPU
  • 90nm ATi Y1 GPU with integrated 90nm eDRAM
  • 512MB (8x64MB) Hynix, Qimonda, or Samsung DDR3 RAM
  • XSB Southbridge
  • HANA
  • Hynix 16MB Nand
  • Boardcom or ICS Ethernet PHY

Zephyr_B

Template:Infobox Component

The Zephyr_B is the successor to the Zephyr_A, and is used in the Original Xbox 360 series. It is nearly identical, with exception to the GPU.

Notable Differences

  • The 90nm Y1 GPU has been replaced with the 80nm Y2 GPU
  • The PCIe pads under the GPU have been swapped around

Specifications

  • 90nm IBM Waternoose2 CPU
  • 80nm ATi Y2 GPU with integrated 90nm eDRAM
  • 512MB (8x64MB) Hynix, Qimonda, or Samsung DDR3 RAM
  • XSB Southbridge
  • HANA
  • Hynix 16MB Nand
  • Boardcom or ICS Ethernet PHY

Zephyr_C

Template:Infobox Component

The Zephyr_C is the successor to the Zephyr_B, and is used in the Original Xbox 360 series. It is nearly identical, with exception to the GPU. The part number is the same as Zephyr_B, as the PCB itself did not change.

Notable Differences

  • The 80nm Y2 GPU has been replaced with the 80nm Rhea GPU, which shrinks the eDRAM to 80nm

Specifications

  • 90nm IBM Waternoose2 CPU
  • 80nm ATi Rhea GPU with integrated 80nm eDRAM
  • 512MB (8x64MB) Hynix, Qimonda, or Samsung DDR3 RAM
  • XSB Southbridge
  • HANA
  • Hynix 16MB Nand
  • Boardcom or ICS Ethernet PHY
