Shiva is an early internal CPU used for Xbox 360 software development before the Waternoose was in production. Little is known about Shiva.

Specifications

  • Single PowerPC 970FX RISC (GPUL) core clocked at 2.0GHz
  • Yeti I/O die to adapt the GPUL interface to the FSB
  • 2GB/s FSB
  • 90nm process
  • 67W TDP

Details

Shiva has 2 dies, covered by a thick Integrated Heat Spreader. The larger die is a PowerPC "GPUL" PowerPC 970FX core, while the smaller die, "Yeti" is an interface between the PowerPC 970FX core and the FSB interface.

Shiva is also known as DD0.9, a reference to the names DD1.0 and DD2.x, used on Waternoose.
